As we enter the sacred season of Lent, we are invited to walk more closely with our Lord Jesus Christ, deepening our faith and preparing our hearts for His resurrection. Lent is a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving—a time to turn away from distractions and refocus on our Lord, who laid down His life for us. In the homily I heard this morning, the priest reminded us today to free ourselves of the distractions that are the internet and separately on theRedeemedUK I was enthused by hearing a young person declaring they would abstain from social media scrolling. Awesome.
If you are worried about temptation - this video is a wonderful resource to help you, but remember to always ask for His help. He will always give you the gifts of the Holy Spirit to help you to fill the void and turn towards him.
So this year, I encourage you—whether young or young at heart—to embrace this season with intention. Let us open ourselves to the Holy Spirit, allowing His grace to lead us in repentance, renewal, and deeper communion with God.
